 2021 COURSES

Plein Air painting South Georgian Bay and the Beaver Valley

After much consideration, the Board of the BMSLP has come to the difficult decision to cancel the first two classes of our 2021 session, those of Peter John Reid and John David Anderson, due to the ongoing provincial lockdown amid the Covid 19 pandemic.  We will be issuing full refunds to students by e-transfer as quickly as possible.
We are hopeful that the daily case count improves allowing us to offer our remaining three classes  but that depends on Public Health directives once lockdown is over.  We continue to fully support measures taken by the Governments of Ontario and Canada to reduce the spread of Covid 19.  Please note that there are now some open spots in both Brian Buckrell and Art Cunanan classes.
We are very disappointed that we once again have to make this very difficult decision but we look forward to a return of normal activities and a full slate of classes in 2022.
For the remaining classes should we be allowed to continue, we have made several accommodations to keep everyone as safe as possible and although it may not be ideal it is the only way we can offer these classes this year.
We are not able to rent our usual studio space;  however, we have secured a large tent on private property (very close to our usual studio) for registration and rain days.
Classes will take place from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. each day, including registration.
Covid prevention measures:
  • wear a mask except when working on your own painting
  • socially distance yourself from others
  • frequent use of hand sanitizer (please bring your own supply
Please bring with you daily:
  • your own coffee, refreshments and lunch
  • drink and a treat for a casual get together after the 2nd day of class (in place of our usual reception)
  • painting water and all other supplies for Plein Air painting including pens and pencils
Use of tent on rain days:
  • the tent will provide cover only and will not be set up as a studio space
  • there will be no hydro in the tent so please fully charge any electronic devices
  • there will be a portable washroom available on site
  • parking will be available very close to the tent
  • please dress for the weather as the sides of the tent will be open.  One side can be closed if it rains.
As we get closer to the start of classes we will send you directions for Registration as well as any additional information we may have regarding Covid regulations.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us by email at or contacting our Registrar at 705-445-3241.
