Where can I stay?

There are a number of good B&B's, hotels and motels in the area. We suggest you contact South Georgian Bay Tourism for assistance in locating an accommodation to your liking. The closer you are to Thornbury, the shorter will be your daily commute.

Sorry, we cannot allow pets into the program.

Are art supplies provided?

No, each instructor provides a list of supplies and materials required for the lesson. See the supplies list for the class you are interested in. After you are enrolled, the Registrar will also send this list to you for your reference. Additionally, you may bring any favorite materials that you use.  Some supplies and materials are also available from local art stores.

Can I take only 2 or 3 days of a course?

Yes, but you will still have to pay the entire course fee.

Who chooses the sites we visit?

The Instructor and volunteer coordinators choose from some 20 pre-selected sites that are most suitable to the lessons they wish to teach. All sites are within a 15-20 minute drive from our Thornbury studio.

Do we always paint outdoors?

Generally yes, but it depends on the weather cooperating or the instructor’s plans for any given class. Our Thornbury studio is spacious, well lit and has an overhead screen so everyone has a good view of the instructor's demonstrations.

Are there places near the painting sites to buy lunch?

Yes, but sometimes it's a 15 min drive, so packing a picnic lunch and snacks is recommended.  Packing drinking water each day is a necessity.
