SCHEDULE
Monday at 8:30 am is registration and orientation at our studio in Thornbury. Meet your instructor and coordinators (details will be included in your confirmation package). Classes are 8:30 am – 4:00 daily . The School is not responsible for personal loss or injury. Please, NO PETS

Supplies:
A suggested list for each teacher will be mailed with your confirmation. We advise you to purchase your supplies ahead of time and bring them with you.  Please see information under "LINKS" for local suppliers if necessary.

Lunch:
Bring your own lunch to the studio or site. A cooler will be provided. There are many establishments in the area providing take-out food.

Transportation:
You must provide your own transportation to and from the outdoor painting sites. Maps and directions will be provided each day. Carpooling is encouraged. All sites are reasonably close to the studio.

Merv Richardson

Merv Richardson        WATERCOLOUR 
Studio                            May 28-30 
Loosen up your watercolour paintings with Merv, a renowned instructor, juror and elected member of the CSPWC. The class will begin with a sketching demonstration by Merv, followed by outdoor sketching around the studio. In the studio, with Merv’s inspirational guidance, you will transform your sketch into a watercolour painting. Merv will encourage you to challenge yourself in new ways in order to create works of art with your own unique content.

John Pryce

Strong design elements, a plein air colour palette, spontaneous brush work and underlying luminosity are the elements that John will share with you in this workshop. Following a successful career in illustration and architectural drawing John is now a professional art teacher and artist, garnering many awards for his work. For John,”the purest and most rewarding form of painting is en plein air, as it challenges all of the skills and discipline of the artist”. John is a co-founder of Plein Air Canada.

Doug uses vibrant colours in a loose, impressionistic manner to stimulate emotion and create drama. His plein air demonstrations are spontaneous and inspirational. He is a trained architectural technologist who, since his retirement,  has spent his time painting and conducting local and international workshops. His enthusiasm for his medium, along with his organised approach, results in a stress-free and enjoyable week. Doug is an elected member of the CSPWC.

Don’t miss this unique artistic opportunity! Brent, one of New Zealand’s premier landscape artists, will share his traditional and impressionistic skills with us. A full time artist for many years, he has inspired budding artists with his sensitivity and genuine caring for each of his students. Barry,a sought after art instructor and workshop leader in North America and Europe, is back by popular demand. His approach focuses on good observation, simplification and composition, from the sketch to the completed painting. Basics such as drawing principles, brush-handling and soft-edge techniques, will be reviewed. Colour and personal interpretation are stressed. His constructive critiques are a key to this creative week.
